We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior CFD Methodology Engineer (Powertrains) to be a part of our highly skilled Red Bull Technology Group supporting the development of our Powertrain.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our CFD Tools and Methods Team to ensure we have the best tools and processes to keep us fighting for the F1 championship and leading innovation with many forward thinking and inspiring projects.
The work involves all aspects of our CFD process and workflow in support of the Powertrain development, from software maintenance and workflow automation to implementation of cutting-edge modelling techniques. Within an open and dynamic environment, you will be working alongside development Teams within Red Bull Powertrains to deliver solutions to the very highest standards.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Be educated to degree level within a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.
2. Have a good understanding of fluid mechanics principles and their application in F1 Powertrain development.
3. Have experience with numerical modelling and performing CFD simulations.
4. Have a high technical ability and good programming skills.
5. Have a strong background in object-oriented scripting using Python and workflow automation.
6. Have a detailed and methodical approach to solving complex problems.
7. Have the determination and dynamism to meet the tight deadlines that are required in the high pressure but highly rewarding world of Red Bull.
It would be advantageous if you also had experience using:
1. Commercial CFD software for Powertrain development, in particular StarCCM+ and Converge CFD.
2. CAD in particular Siemens NX.
3. Linux operating system, Bash and Java.
