Shotton Mill is currently repurposing the paper mill in order the build the biggest containerboard and tissue campus within the UK. This includes containerboard production with a capacity of 750,000t to develop Converting & Tissue operations on site. As well as this, a new CHP gas and effluent treatment plant is also being constructed. Site-wide there will be a requirement to double the current workforce by a start-up in 2025. To do this, we need to develop our Production team to support the growth of the business and work with us to construct start-up and commission start-of-art machinery.
We are therefore looking to recruit a Papermill IT Manager to lead the Shotton Mill’s IT activities. You will initially join as part of the Global IT team and oversee the construction, commissioning and start-up phase. The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the technology infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of IT services to support manufacturing processes. This role involves managing IT projects, implementing and maintaining systems, and leading a team of IT professionals. The IT Manager will work closely with the Global IT Team and other departments to optimize technology use and improve efficiency in production.

* IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
* Ensure the reliability and security of IT systems, including servers, networks, and databases.
* Manage cloud services and ensure data backup and disaster recovery plans are in place.
* Team Leadership: Lead and manage the IT team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff.

* Budget Management: Prepare and manage the IT department budget.
* Evaluate and procure IT equipment and services cost-effectively.
* Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business goals.
* Stay updated with emerging technologies and assess their potential benefits for the organization.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, ITIL) is a plus.
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT management, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
* Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services.
* Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
* In-depth knowledge of enterprise systems (ERP, MES, SCM) and their integration.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with paper manufacturing processes and technology.
* Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
