ScottishPower is hiring an Environmental + Sustainability Manager to drive environmental compliance and deliver a holistic approach to sustainability.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, you’ll play a key role in the development and delivery of our environmental and sustainability ambitions across our corporate business’ General Services (GSUK) function.
You will take ownership of the sustainability strategy, partnering with key stakeholders to achieve our sustainability goals and fostering a workplace culture that is passionate about sustainability and proactive in protecting our environment.
As a member of the leadership team delivering multi-million-pound projects, you’ll own and lead a robust environmental compliance programme through implementation of digital tools, governance, and processes to support a cultural shift for GSUK managed estate(s). You will also be a key contact for GSUK to collaborate and update with other Scottish Power business areas from an environmental and sustainability perspective.
You’ll be the main point of contact for sustainability technical advice, developing approaches, tools, and systems to measure performance and provide reporting to key stakeholders in support of recommendations to leadership to meet our goals.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for people with a passion for Environmental Compliance and Sustainability who have or are working towards certifications in an Environmental/Sustainability related subject.
General business experience managing long and short-term improvements is necessary, and candidates with engineering experience reflecting real-world operational processes, major risk, and financial management are desirable.
Knowledge in analytical and organisational techniques for sustainability performance management, including data gathering and reporting, is required. Experience of data processes, governance, and controls is desirable.
Experience of implementing sustainability practices in the Energy, Utilities, or Construction sector is advantageous.
You’ll have strong stakeholder management and engagement capabilities, effective at managing and influencing a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
