Role: Principal/Senior Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Middlewich (on-site 3 days per week)
Salary: £55,000-75,000 + 10% pension contribution (conditional).
full-time (36 hours per week)
Senior Electronics Engineer to join the development team.
As a Design Engineer you will work in a multi-disciplinary team to specify and deliver a range of key objectives to support and develop products.
Key Skills:
• Extensive practical experience of electronics design using analogue, FPGAs, micro-controllers, and associated firmware.
• Experience of low-noise systems.
• Experience of analogue circuit design.
• Experience of high voltage power supply design.
• Experience of switching circuits.
• Ability to design complex multi-layer surface-mount PCBs for low noise and high voltage.
• Programming in C, C++, C#
• Experience of product validation and certification for international markets (CE, UL, etc)
Desirable Skills:
• Experience of PCB schematic capture and PCB layout ideally with Altium Designer
• Experience with ARM processors, Xilinx/Altera(Intel) VHDL FPGA design.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacture.
• Understanding of RF design techniques.
• Hands on experience of troubleshooting of individual boards/units, and these units within a larger system.
Responsibilities Include:
• Specification, simulation and productionisation of electronic hardware.
• Meeting mission and time-critical deadlines for product delivery.
• Assisting specification and delivery of new product development.
Ideally you will have:
• Project management methodologies, tools and techniques including requirements definition
• Ability to work independently as well as in an environment of teamwork and collaboration
• Ability to meet and coordinate multiple tasks and tight deadlines
• Ability to function as a team member
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Honours Degree in Electronics or related scientific discipline.
• Knowledge of physics.
• Experience with scientific instrumentation.
