Play Worker / Early years practitioner - Weybridge
Salary from £12.50ph depending on qualification and experience
Contract Type: Term time only or fixed term 52 week contract if holiday club hours worked.
Part Time: 3-6.30pm weekdays only
This is a qualified Play Worker / Early years practitioner position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Activity Planning and Assessment
• Create dynamic, inclusive activities aligned with the SPICE framework (Social, Physical, Intellectual, Creative, Emotional) and EYFS goals.
• Use the PEP framework to foster creativity, resilience, and strong family connections.
• Regularly evaluate and adapt activities to meet children’s diverse needs, ensuring inclusivity and engagement. Leadership and Supervision
• Lead and motivate a team of childcare professionals to deliver high-quality wraparound care.
• Act as a Key Person, fostering trust and positive relationships with children and families.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, supporting their professional growth.
• Oversee daily club operations, including health and safety checks, risk assessments, and resource management.
• Ensure smooth execution of administrative tasks and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with families, schools, and the community to enhance the clubs reputation and impact.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Level 3 qualification in childcare, education, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in early years or wraparound care settings, focusing on play-based learning.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in digital tools such as MS Office 365.
• A thorough and up to date understanding of childcare regulations, safeguarding, and compliance standards.
• Ability to create inclusive, engaging environments that encourage children’s growth and learning.
Desirable:
• Experience supporting children with additional needs or behavioural challenges.
• Familiarity with online learning journals.
• Background in coordinating out-of-school or community engagement activities.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel to different locations as required.
