Are you a skilled and committed audit professional looking for a fulfilling career? Fife Council is actively seeking 2 Auditors to join its Internal Audit Team.

The Internal Audit Team plays a crucial role in helping the Council to operate effectively, manage risks and achieve its objectives through the provision of assurances on the framework of governance, risk management and control.
In addition to providing assurances, the Internal Audit Team adds value for the organisation in many ways, including risk identification and mitigation, strengthening internal controls and compliance, process improvement and efficiency.
As a progressive employer, Fife Council offers the opportunity to work in these roles under a “blended working” arrangement with home and office-working as required. Candidates should also be able to travel to / attend office locations in Fife as required.
The Person
4. You must have full membership of the IIA, a CCAB recognised body or equivalent.
5. You must be able to lead a mini team within the Internal Audit Team, ensuring that audit plans are delivered to agreed priorities and timescales, whilst ensuring that service levels and customer satisfaction are met.
6. You will have experience of preparing audit planning documentation e.g. Terms of Reference / Audit Programmes and carrying out audit work in accordance with agreed standards, guidance and procedures, with a proven track record of delivery against the audit plan.
7. The ability to analyse problems and determine creative and practical solutions is essential for the role.
8. You will have experience of compiling audit reports, assessing risks and reaching appropriate, evidence-based conclusions and making practical, proportionate recommendations for improvement.
9. You will have excellent interpersonal skills as you will be required to liaise with all levels of staff during the conduct of an audit (often providing clear and focused advice, guidance and support to management / other stakeholders), and be able to build strong relationships with colleagues and partners.
10. You will provide professional leadership and support to the Internal Audit Team and engender a positive performance culture, motivating, empowering and coaching others to give their best and achieve their potential.
11. You will display a high standard of professional integrity and ensure that the Internal Audit Team acts as a role model, demonstrating a high level of ethics and professionalism across the organisation.
12. You will provide support to the Internal Audit Team through personal and team development, coaching, managing attendance, performance and conduct.
