Overview:
As a Business Interruption Claims Solicitor, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for clients who have suffered financial losses due to disruptions in their business operations. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, manage, and litigate business interruption claims, ensuring that clients receive fair compensation for their losses.
You will collaborate with clients, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to navigate complex legal frameworks and negotiate settlements.
Due to the nature of the role my client is willing to look at Solicitors who have litigation experience within Civil Litigation/PI or Multi-Track work who would be keen to re-train into another area of litigation law
Key Responsibilities:
Client Consultation:
1. Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their business interruption claims.
2. Evaluate the merits of each case and develop tailored strategies to maximize compensation.
Claim Management:
3. Manage all aspects of business interruption claims, including documentation, evidence gathering, and communication with relevant parties.
4. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and deadlines throughout the claims process.
Litigation:
5. Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings related to business interruption claims.
6. Prepare and present compelling arguments to support clients' positions and advocate for favorable outcomes.
Legal Research:
7. Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and precedents related to business interruption insurance and commercial litigation.
8. Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
Collaboration:
9. Collaborate with internal teams, including paralegals, solicitors, and support staff, to streamline processes and enhance client service delivery.
10. Work closely with external experts, such as forensic accountants and industry specialists, to strengthen case arguments.
Client Communication:
11. Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress, address concerns, and manage expectations.
12. Provide clear explanations of legal concepts and procedures to ensure clients are well-informed throughout the claims process.
Negotiation:
13. Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing parties to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
14. Advocate for fair compensation based on the extent of business interruption losses and policy coverage terms.
Documentation:
15. Draft legal documents, including demand letters, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements, accurately reflecting clients' interests and legal arguments.
16. Review and analyze insurance policies to determine coverage and exclusions relevant to each claim.
Qualifications:
17. Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing commercial litigation, insurance law, or litigation related areas.
18. Strong knowledge of business interruption insurance policies, contract law, and civil litigation procedures.
19. Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
20. Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, both written and verbal.
21. Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
