A fantastic opportunity is available for a dedicated and compassionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic mental health team in North London. With both full-time and part-time options, this role offers the flexibility to work in a supportive, therapeutic environment committed to enhancing mental health outcomes for service users. Location: North London Position: Full-time (Part-time also considered) Band: 6 Pay: £25-27 per hour Key Responsibilities: Delivering specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions to adults with a wide range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. Developing personalized and holistic care plans, with a focus on enhancing daily living skills, improving functional independence, and supporting individuals to manage their mental health challenges. Providing therapeutic interventions, such as graded activity, cognitive rehabilitation, sensory integration, and cognitive-behavioural techniques to aid in recovery and promote well-being. Supporting individuals with their social, vocational, and leisure needs, encouraging engagement in meaningful activities to improve mental health and quality of life. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams (MDT), including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and psychologists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care. Offering education and support to patients, families, and carers to improve understanding and coping strategies related to mental health. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, including assessment outcomes, progress reports, and discharge planning, adhering to professional and clinical standards. Essential Requirements: Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant experience in mental health settings. HCPC registration. Demonstrable experience in mental health occupational therapy, particularly in working with adults with complex mental health needs. Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, and delivering therapeutic interventions. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively support individuals in a mental health setting. Knowledge and experience of working with various mental health therapeutic models and approaches.
