Job Purpose:
To develop and implement strategic Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Quality Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) initiatives that drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and align with the companys long-term goals. This role requires a strategic leader to strengthen quality processes, mitigate risks, ensure compliance with all applicable standards/accreditations and integrate quality considerations across all business functions while maintaining oversight of Health & Safety programs to ensure a safe working environment throughout the organisation.

Duties:
Develop and implement a Quality Management System that enhances process quality across the organisation, aligning with the company's strategic goals.
Oversee and manage the company's accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as ISO, MCS, and PAS2030.
Act as the organisations subject matter expert on ISO 9001 & 14001, providing guidance and recommendations to project teams and management.
Lead investigations into quality & safety incidents or non-conformities, analysing root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Plan and conduct regular internal audits across the organisation, implementing corrective actions to address deficiencies and ensure compliance with QHSE standards.
Create and refine QHSE standards and procedures, ensuring integration across all business areas and compliance with relevant regulations.
Identify, assess, and address QHSE risks and opportunities. Develop action plans to drive improvements and mitigate potential issues.
Lead initiatives to drive a quality-centric culture throughout the organisation, promoting proactive engagement and emphasising continuous improvement.
Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of company policies and procedures, tailored to the companys needs. Work with the teams to regularly review and update these policies to reflect regulatory changes and industry best practices.
Establish and manage document control systems to ensure that all QMS documentation is accurately maintained, updated, and readily accessible.
Maintain accurate records of all QHSE activities, including audits, training sessions, incident reports, and corrective actions. Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory agencies as needed.
Develop business continuity plans and emergency response protocols. Oversee regular drills to evaluate the preparedness and effectiveness of environmental and safety response procedures.
Ensure that all suppliers and subcontractors comply with established quality standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with commercial, procurement and project teams to ensure quality criteria are integrated into vendor selection and contract management.
Oversee the compliance and maintenance of all plant and equipment to ensure they meet operational quality standards and safety regulations. Ensure regular inspections/checks are conducted to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
Establish and monitor QHSE key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and identify areas for enhancement.
Lead a team of QHSE professionals, encouraging a culture of continuous learning with a strong emphasis on quality systems and safety practices.
Design and deliver quality-focused training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders, emphasising best practices, compliance, and accountability in QHSE.
Organise monthly QHSE training workshops to engage employees.
Organise and chair quarterly QHSE committee meetings with cross-functional representation to assess company performance.
Serve as the Data Protection Officer (DPO), overseeing the implementation and enforcement of data protection policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable data protection regulations and safeguarding sensitive information.
Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance quality, control risk, improve cost-effectiveness, and support company objectives for growth and efficiency.
Skills/Qualifications :
Expertise in developing and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS), implementing ISO standards (ISO 9001 & 14001), and driving continuous improvement initiatives across business processes.
Internal or Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies
Exemplary report writing skills
Excellent project management skills
Ability to analyse complex situations, information and data
Understanding of current QHSE management laws, regulations and reporting requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred, but not essential:
Foundational environmental qualification such as the IEMA Foundation Certificate, IOSH Managing Environmental Responsibilities, or equivalent.
H&S Certification such as NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Experience Required:
Experience in a Quality Management or Quality Assurance role, ideally within a QHSE function.
Strong background in conducting internal audits and inspections, especially for ISO standards. Experience in identifying non-conformities and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
Experience of working with ISO 9001 & 14001 systems.
Proven ability to operate strategically and implement effective QHSE programs
Proven experience of leading and managing a team of professionals
Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or other high-compliance environment.
Experience with PAS 2030 (Publicly Available Specification for energy efficiency measures) and MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) standards and systems is particularly advantageous.
