About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially astute Finance Director to join a leading facilities management organisation headquartered in the North West. With ambitious growth plans and a strong operational foundation, the business is seeking a forward-thinking financial leader to drive performance, shape financial strategy, and support sustainable expansion.
This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Board and working closely with operational and commercial teams across the business. You'll be instrumental in shaping the financial vision, ensuring financial discipline, and providing strategic insight to enable confident decision-making at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities across the group.
* Develop and execute financial strategies aligned to business goals and long-term vision.
* Provide commercial insight and analysis to support strategic decisions and new business opportunities.
* Oversee robust financial controls, compliance, and risk management across all operations.
* Lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, development, and excellence.
* Manage external relationships with auditors, banks, and key stakeholders.
* Partner with operational leadership to track performance, optimise margins, and improve operational efficiency.
* Lead on M&A activity, investment planning, and financial due diligence where appropriate.
* Present financial reports and recommendations to the Board and executive team.
* Identify opportunities for automation, system upgrades, and financial process improvements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
* Proven experience in a Finance Director or equivalent senior finance leadership role.
* Background in facilities management, construction, property services, or similar sectors.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence at board level.
* Experienced in managing multi-million-pound budgets and delivering financial transformation.
* Adept at leading teams through change, growth, and performance improvement.
* Hands-on approach combined with strategic thinking and a results-driven mindset.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-site, operationally complex environment.
