About us:
Our Nursery consists of three detached buildings; each carefully adapted to suit the developmental stages of the children within them. The rooms are spacious with large feature windows, flooding the rooms in natural light. The nursery buildings are set within a half-acre site with each room having their own garden space, Vegetable patch, playground equipment, dens and hidey holes, and back onto 40 acres of Hatch Grange Nature Reserve. The children are taken on trips to the local community such as the park and the library which enables the children to develop a sense of belonging to our local community.

Play Away Day Nurseries, part of the Family First Nursery Group, offers the highest quality childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Based in Southampton, we want to ensure that our family first spirit and curriculum positively impacts as many families as possible. Always putting our families first, the safety and wellbeing of all our children, staff and parents is our number one priority.Our nursery is open from 7.30am - 18:00pm and we would require you to be able to work varied shift patterns between those times.

Nursery Nurse duties and responsibilities*:
* Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met
* Ensure that company policies and procedures are read, applied, reviewed regularly and adhered to by all
* Observe, support and extend children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with the highest quality and relevance
* Ensure children are supervised and attended to at all times, maintaining appropriate staff:child ratios
* Ensure positive partnerships with parents/carers with thorough handover on daily collection and encourage their involvement in the nursery
* Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff and families.
* Ensure that each child’s individual needs are met and a high standard of professional care and education is delivered in a caring, safe and secure environment in which all children can play, learn and develop
* Observe, assess and plan an interesting, stimulating and challenging range of early years activities which supports each child’s individual learning and development needs and abilities.

Requirements and skills:
* Full and relevant Level 2/3 childcare qualification - essential
* Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
* Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable
* Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
