Supply Chain Manager

* Salary: up to £50,000 DOE
We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to oversee our supply chain, purchasing, and inventory control activities. This role involves managing suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality, maximizing revenue and profitability, and maintaining compliance with health and safety/regulatory requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:
1. Develop and implement inventory management strategies to control costs, generate savings, and maximize working capital.
2. Optimize purchasing, materials storage, and inventory via the ERP system.
3. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating best prices, terms, and lead-times.
4. Plan and develop strategies for supply chain initiatives and budget requirements.
5. Drive Continuous Improvement within the Supply Chain to deliver productivity and efficiency improvements.
6. Manage and maintain the company’s inventory and non-inventory items, including stock profiles and re-order levels.
7. Conduct perpetual inventory stock counting/inventory accuracy checks to meet targets and regulatory requirements.
8. Ensure that Supply Chain staff are appropriately trained and developed.
9. Manage stores/warehouses to meet the needs of business units and comply with Health and Safety/regulatory requirements.
10. Manage incoming products and associated documents according to company procedures.
11. Provide routine management information and Key Performance Indicators on inventory and supplier performance.
12. Assist Finance with HMRC matters and the import/export of parts and materials.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Experience in Supply Chain/Purchasing/Stores Management.
2. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive improvements.
3. Experience in vendor management and supply performance monitoring.
4. Commercial/product costing awareness.
5. Excellent communication skills at all levels.
6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
7. Good organisational, time management, and project management skills.
8. Proficient in ERP/inventory control systems and Microsoft Office suite.
9. Knowledge of Lean and experience implementing Lean tools in a Stores/Manufacturing/Workshops environment.
10. Technical awareness to understand product specifications and influence supply chain planning.
11. Flexibility for visits/supplier audits and experienced in logistics/transport requirements.
