The Role
As Lead HR Business Partner at the University of Cambridge, you will be a key strategic partner to the School or Institution you are aligned to, delivering a comprehensive HR service and collaboratively supporting organisational transformation. Working in partnership with leaders, key stakeholders within the School or Institution and HR colleagues, you will leverage best practice techniques to maximise service performance through the development of a business culture at senior levels. As the most senior HR professional assigned to the School or Institution, you will:
1. Support the development of service and workforce planning processes over the short, medium, and long-term;
2. Work with the senior management team to identify its strategic people priorities and develop appropriate action plans;
3. Coordinate the delivery of HR services and solutions to meet strategic objectives and plans;
4. Contribute to the development of innovative HR policies and practices;
5. Lead and manage projects contributing to organisational development and the delivery of strategic objectives;
6. Advise on complex, sensitive, and high-risk employee relations cases;
Monitor and review people management data to identify people risks and issues as well as opportunities for further improvement.
About you:
Graduate with membership of the CIPD or equivalent experience;
1. Extensive experience in a senior HR role, with multi-discipline knowledge and experience;
2. The ability to analyse problems at a strategic and operational level and develop a range of creative and innovative HR solutions which will add value;
3. Experience of contributing towards the development of organisation-wide level strategies and work plans;
4. Good people management and leadership skills, acting positively, flexibly, and constructively to bring energy and focus to the work;
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to produce and present clearly articulated, well-structured, concise reports for senior management and committees;
6. Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with experience of liaising with both internal and external customers;
7. An innovative and creative approach, being open to ideas and challenge and personally committed to individual learning and development;
8. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels across the University, taking a collaborative approach to influence outcomes and get things done.
