We have the brilliant opportunity for a Case Worker to join our Newcastle Together in a Crisis Team This is a remote role however we do require someone who lives in the North East. This is a permanent, 14 hour per week contract. Together in a Crisis provides a rapid response to people who, following contact with the NHS are assessed as not in need of an urgent statutory response, but who nevertheless are in emotional and psychological distress and may require an immediate response to their personally defined need. As a Case Worker, you will work with individuals who are often facing several social/practical/emotional challenges and will support them in their recovery. To be successful in this role you will need to be self-motivated, with a good up to date knowledge of the issues affecting our clients, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage and organise your own caseload. You will provide support focused on active, empathic listening, helping the person to problem solve and to link into services and other local support resources. You will help co-produce a crisis plan, relapse prevention and other self-management tools in partnership with the individual, then support the individual through this. You will support the individual to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence to withstand future life challenges, whilst maintaining good mental health and wellbeing. About you We would love to hear from you if you have: A detailed knowledge of the effects of stigma and discrimination A detailed knowledge of recovery in the context of mental health Strong interpersonal skills The ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage a caseload Good IT skills Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively as both part of a team and independently Have knowledge of issues surrounding homelessness, financial inclusion or substance misuse Previous work experience is not essential and applications from people who have lived experience of mental health issues are encouraged.
