Technical Manager Department Marsh Environmental Location Head Office (Slough) Direct Reports TBC Reports To Compliance Manager Hours 41.25 hours per week Salary - Up to £40,000 depending on experience Technical Manager We are looking for a Technical Manager to join our growing water hygiene team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced water hygiene professional to ensure that the company delivers on its contractual and compliance obligations professionally, on time and in a cost-efficient manner and that we meet the expectations of our clients and stakeholders You will need to be a self-starter who is organised and takes ownership and is dedicated to creating lasting relationships. Main Responsibilities • Managing the flow of Technician and Laboratory reports, from inbox to invoicing (if applicable) • Understanding and interpretation of Lab results for both Domestic and Closed systems. • Manage the filing and storing of files and reports in line with current protocols. • Utilize and be conversant with MRI Concept Evolution CRM, Elogbooks and or similar systems. • To be fully conversant with the processing and administration of contracts. • To provide comprehensive and accurate service visit reports to our clients. • To be responsible for all aspects of a portfolio of contracts from mobilisation, monitoring routine PPM works, reviewing engineer’s reports and quotes for additional works. • Produce quotations for extra works as necessary in line with company guidelines. • Any other reasonable instruction from the line manager or other member of the management team. • Co-operating with the company to allow it to fulfil its moral and legal duties and obligations. • Organising and monitoring of subcontractors when needed. • To regularly and effectively communicate with both internal and external clients to maintain and develop excellent relationships and ensure smooth operation of the business. • Management of all documentation ensuring it is completed and communicated to the client including progress meetings and site visits when needed. • Effective communication and understanding of PPM and quoted works schedule and demand. • Liaising with internal support functions to create a collaborative and successful working environment. Person Specification This role is based in our head office in Slough with potential travel between client sites. The role would suit an individual who has excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills who will always put the client first and go the extra mile. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Knowledge and Qualifications Sound knowledge of Water Hygiene service industry Sound knowledge of mechanical plant Knowledge and understanding of o ACoP L8 o HSG 274 Parts 1 2 and 3 o BS 8552 Sampling and Monitoring of Water from Closed Systems o BSRIA BG 50 Water Treatment for Heating and Cooling Systems o BS 8580 WRA Code of Practice o BS 7592 Legionella Sampling Driving Licence Intermediate/Advanced PC Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook Understanding of CRM systems o elogbooks o FSI Concept and the like Trained in Health and Safety Personal Qualities/Skills Good communication skills both written and oral Good organisational skills The ability to work in a sometimes-pressured environment The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with an exceptional work ethic Working alone and also within a team as dictated by working responsibilities. Desired Experience Experience of interpretating and reporting of Water Hygiene Service maintenance reports. Experience of interpretating and reporting of UKAS Lab sample analysis reports. Demonstrable understanding and interpretation of interpretation of Lab results for both Domestic and Closed systems in line with current regulations and guidance. Understanding or carrying out practical work involved with water hygiene monitoring and maintenance.
