The responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer role are as follows:
* Work within the NPI, Process Development and CI framework for both existing and new products.
* Carry out Effective 8D Problem Solving.
* Carry out Corrective Action Effectiveness.
* Provide project plans, programs, fixture design and process instructions which can be used to create a conforming part, repeatedly, within agreed timescales, to an agreed cost and at an agreed rate.
* Ensure the MRP / ERP Engineering system and data is accurate and up to date
* Create manufacturing processes – working from 3D models and 2D engineering drawings
* Fixture & Tooling Design
* CADCAM – Autodesk Inventor & Powermill and other related software
The skills required to fulfil the role of Manufacturing Engineer are as follows:
* CAD/CAM and CNC machines
* Lean manufacturing, six sigma methodologies and process optimization techniques
* Hands on experience
* Ideally familiar with AS9100 and ISO9001
* Understanding of metals, alloys and composite materials
