Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Head of Operations to join our MRO Europe business where you'll be responsible for the daily leadership of technicians and support personnel ensuring efficient maintenance and repair of Ontic-licensed products.
This role will be based at our newly created Ontic Tewkesbury site but travel between all of our Gloucestershire sites should be expected.

The Role:
This role is responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction for MRO operations, aligning with company growth, changing product demands, and new licence integrations. You will drive a culture of communication, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to both company and regulatory policies while maintaining a safe, high-performing work environment.

To be successful in this role you'll provide strong leadership in Operations, developing Cell Managers to ensure policy adherence and drive a culture of problem-solving and agility. Lead the MRO function, optimizing efficiency, cost control, and performance while ensuring compliance with industry standards (EASA, FAA, CAA, CAAC, AS9100). Oversee daily MRO activities, resource allocation, and workflow management to meet turnaround time commitments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity and service delivery. Foster a safety-first culture through incident reporting and hazard reduction. Set clear expectations for Cell Managers, monitor performance, and develop talent pipelines. Manage resources effectively within budget while driving continuous improvement, employee engagement, and operational excellence. Support data-driven decision-making to meet KPIs and financial goals. Engage in strategy development with the Site Director and take an active role in personal development, mentoring, and succession planning. Ensure structured reporting and execution of key initiatives while addressing challenges proactively.
