Junior Business Partner (Location Flexible)
About the role
The successful candidate will support the People team in delivering the People Plan and Business Plan, support NW Europe People Lead to achieve the People team’s strategic objectives as set out in the Strategic Action Plan. The successful candidate will also support the People Team on a range of different projects and responsibilities. The role will involve working with key stakeholders, providing support and advice in HR and Employment Law matters across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting managers on the correct application of Human Resources policies and procedures
• Comply with GDPR promoting knowledge and compliance with the regulations
• Providing information and advice to employees regarding HR policies such as absences, maternity, paternity, shared parental leave, pension queries etc
• Support the management of the HR Mail box and answering general queries within 24 hours.
• Attending meetings as HR representative, to guide managers, ensuring legality and fairness of meetings and capturing accurate minutes for all parties.
• Support People Business Partners in advising managers and staff regarding requests for flexible working, maternity, paternity, parental, emergency family leave and compassionate leave, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and related Company policies and procedures.
• Stay updated on legislative changes
• Ensure that the delivery of People service and information to key stakeholders within the organisation is accurate, efficient, timely and cost effective, including service delivery models, HR technology and information management (KPI’s) and Company Induction.
• To work with Senior Managers to identify and attract key people and to actively manage the balance of resource to meet changing needs to fulfil the short and long-terms ambitions of the Exolum Strategy.
About You
You will have Maths & English GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent and CIPD Level 3. The successful candidate will have previous experience in Human Resources and good Knowledge of UK Employment Law, the ability to develop excellent working relationships with all levels of the organisation and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of generalist HR. Strong communication skills are essential with sound judgement, professionalism and an overall positive attitude. The successful candidate will be required to be a positive ambassador for the People service within the organisation and have good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience with SAP. CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, Commercial awareness and how it links to HR are desirable but not essential.
