Job summary This post is for a Locum Consultant with a specialist interest in spinal surgery. As a successful department, with twin site working at New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital (trauma and elective sites), we are looking for a consultant who is fellowship trained in spinal surgery. Applications are welcomed from candidates with FRCS (or equivalent qualification) who are on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery or who will be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT/CESR at the time of interview. Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to provide a General Trauma and Orthopaedic Service, with a specialist interest in spinal surgery. A spinal fellowship is essential. A trauma fellowship is desirable. Flexible working will be required to fully utilise hospital facilities such as theatres and out patients. The post holder will also be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and to participate in audit and clinical governance activities.
