What Youll Do
Environment, Health & Safety:
Support on company-wide compliance with UK EHS regulations, including CDM 2015, HSE guidelines, and environmental legislation.
Develop and implement robust safety initiatives, promoting a culture of awareness and improvement.
Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Operational Excellence:
Manage environmental compliance measures, such as waste management and CL:AIRE MMP protocols.
Oversee emergency response procedures, including drills and incident investigations.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of EHS activities and compliance to senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
Training & Engagement:
Deliver impactful training sessions, safety briefings, and workshops for employees at all levels.
Inspire a culture of safety, influencing stakeholders across the organisation to prioritise EHS best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with teams to implement cutting-edge EHS initiatives.
Monitor and adapt policies to reflect changes in legislation and emerging best practices.
Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to enhance safety performance.
What You Bring
Were seeking a proactive, confident EHS professional with the ability to inspire, engage, and lead. Your background should include:
Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate (essential); working towards NEBOSH Diploma (preferred).
Experience: 3+ years in a practical EHS role in construction, quarrying, utilities, rail, or similar related on-site industry.
Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of UK EHS regulations, CDM 2015, and environmental compliance standards.
Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and influencing abilities. Competent in MS Office and incident reporting systems.
Attributes: Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in varied environments and drive continuous improvement.
Professional Membership: IOSH or IEMA membership (or working towards).
