Ward 302 is an Oncology, Haematology and General Medical ward offering variety and an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in multiple areas. We take patients from the Combined Triage Assessment Unit, Medical Assessment Unit, Emergency Department and other specialist areas.
We are looking for a compassionate, caring and motivated Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our team. You will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to have emotionally charged conversations and be reliable.
We are able to offer access to our Clinical Educators to support you through a training programme to enhance your Oncology and Haematology knowledge and your clinical skills.
Applicants will be expected work 12.5 hour shifts including day, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
You will be expected to assess, deliver a high standard of care to and escalate acutely unwell patients.
Applicants need to hold an NMC Registration in Adult Nursing.
Main duties will include:
Care planning
Monitoring and completing patient observations using NEWS
Care of Medical, Oncology and Haematology patients
Safe medication administration
Risk assessing
Safeguarding
Providing emotional support to patients and their loved ones
End of life care
