What the Job Involves In this fulfilling and challenging role within the Working Age Mental Health Service (WAMHS) team for West Sussex County Council, you will deliver statutory social work services to individuals with severe and enduring mental health needs. Your responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, and review, emphasizing strengths-based and community-led support. You will act as a lead social worker for specialized service areas like peri-natal, early intervention, transitions, and homelessness, ensuring successful communication of developments and innovations to colleagues. Working within a supportive team environment, you will manage caseloads, collaborate with individuals and their carers, and develop tailored support plans to promote wellbeing and independence. You are expected to perform strength-based assessments, apply learning to develop professional confidence, and provide informal supervision to junior practitioners. Furthermore, the role involves safeguarding adults, evaluating interventions, and ensuring compliance with professional standards, policies, and legislative requirements.
