An exciting opportunity has become available in the Adult Safeguarding Team for Band 6/7 Adult Safeguarding Practitioner. Working in the Safeguarding Team you will join an enthusiastic, driven and caring team, to help provide support to our adult patients.
The Adult Safeguarding Practitioner is a key position within our Adult Safeguarding team where you will support the Adult Safeguarding arena which includes:
* Adult Safeguarding
* Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS)
* Domestic Abuse and Violence (DA)
* Learning Disabilities
* Mental Health Act Administration
Main duties of the job
* To work closely with the Trust's Safeguarding Team in supporting all activities necessary to ensure that the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities in Adult Safeguarding
* To act as an Adult Safeguarding role model for Trust staff
* To participate in the operational work of the Safeguarding Team. This may include advice and support to employees, participating in safeguarding strategy meetings or enquiries & Best Interest Meetings
* To support the Safeguarding Teams Education & audit agenda
* To advise Police, Adult Social Care, DoLS Teams and other agencies on safeguarding, mental capacity and DA health matters in an acute setting
To work within the multi-professional, multi-agency arena to protect and promote the welfare of adults at risk of abuse and neglect.

Person Specification
* Registered Nurse, AHP, Social Worker with valid professional registration
* Good grounding of Safeguarding Adults & MCA agenda
* Post Reg academic training
* Additional Safeguarding Training & Teaching qualification
* Registered Health Professional
* Leadership experience at Band 6 or equivalent
* Experience of planning and delivering training
* Ability to challenge Practice
* Demonstrates skills in planning, delivery & evaluation of patient's care
* Demonstrates transformational leadership ability
* Articulate with highly developed interpersonal communication
* Experience of Safeguarding Supervision
* Advanced knowledge and understanding of the MCA, DoLS, DA & Learning Disabilities
