Head of Data Operations & Delivery
Up to £100,000 - £110,000+ bonus + benefits
Can be based from Glasgow, Newcastle or Chester office (2 days per week)
Reporting directly to the CDO you will be responsible for the end to end ownership of the entire portfolio of programmes and projects including management of all project teams. This is a senior leader position and will require that you have worked on multiple large scale projects previously while driving governance, performance and operational efficiency while managing risk and achieving strategic objectives.
The Job:
* Own and lead the full lifecycle of portfolio, programme, and delivery management activities within the CDO, ensuring seamless project execution from inception to completion.
* Oversee the operational management of all project teams, ensuring effective resource allocation, team performance, and delivery efficiency.
* Lead programme and project delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
* Drive financial management across all projects, including accurate budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure control.
* Manage people resources, including recruitment, development, and performance management, ensuring project teams are highly skilled and motivated.
* Act as a senior leader in the CDO leadership team, providing strategic insights and recommendations to influence business direction.
* Ensure governance and risk management frameworks are adhered to across all delivery projects.
* Champion continuous improvement in delivery management practices, promoting efficiency and best practices across all teams.
* Provide regular reporting and updates to senior executives, ensuring visibility on project performance, financials, risks, and opportunities.
* Act as the senior stakeholder in discussions with internal and external partners, ensuring alignment on key project deliverables and outcomes.
The Person:
* Extensive experience in portfolio, programme, delivery, and project management within large, complex organisations, ideally in the financial services sector.
* Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary projects and leading operational teams to deliver large-scale programmes.
* Strong leadership experience, including operational management of project teams and financial oversight across complex portfolios.
* Experience in strategic engagement with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders to influence business outcomes.
* Expertise in managing the financial aspects of large programmes, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
* Deep knowledge of programme, project, and delivery management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, Waterfall).
* Comprehensive understanding of operational management, including resource allocation, performance management, and team development.
* Expertise in governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
* Strong understanding of financial services, particularly the regulatory environment and operational processes within retail banking.
* Knowledge of change management strategies and how to integrate them into project delivery
