Finance Manager - Hybrid working Taunton

Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will in effect be a #2 role in this finance team of 6. Duties will include:
1. Prepare monthly management accounts with insightful commentary on performance against budget and variances, aiding in business performance, growth, and key decision-making.
2. Assist business managers in understanding and managing their budgets, serving as the primary finance contact for all budget-related matters.
3. Oversee the payroll function, review data from our Time & Attendance system, and ensure employees are paid according to Amica's policies and statutory requirements.
4. Strategic Planning: Prepare annual budgets, quarterly rolling forecasts, and cash flow forecasts aligned with the Trust's medium- and long-term plans.
5. Year-End Coordination: Lead the year-end accounts process, ensuring all schedules and reports are completed for homes, management companies, and other services to comply with external audits and statutory accounts production.
6. Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in reporting, processes, and templates. Collaborate with the finance team and homes to develop and implement these enhancements.
7. Systems Development: Spearhead the development and implementation of systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation.
8. Deputy Role: Step in for the Finance Director during their absence, ensuring seamless continuity of leadership.
9. Manage, monitor, and evaluate the performance of the finance team. Promote continuous improvement and provide coaching and support to ensure the team thrives.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Ideally qualified with ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
2. Prior experience in Management Accounting and Statutory Accounting / reporting.
3. Appetite to develop processes and systems as well as support in the implementation of new accounting software.
4. Ability to business partner with non-finance stakeholders across the organisation.
