Plymouth-based Senior Project Engineer Role
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) directorate in Plymouth.
The MIP unit delivers critical infrastructure upgrades, including dock, berth, and building facilities to support key national programmes. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will work within the Water Retaining Boundary team, managing a crucial civil engineering design package.
You will collaborate with stakeholders, users, and design consultants to ensure the delivery of heavy civil infrastructure designs that meet technical, operational, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Package Manager in delivering multiple sub-packages.
* Work closely with technical teams to ensure high-quality deliverables through governance processes.
* Coordinate with scheduling, commercial, cost, and risk management teams to meet project milestones.
* Assist in developing requirements, project scopes, and solutions for specific work packages.
* Analyze supply chain data to inform planning, monitoring, and control of work packages.
* Manage risk, identifying and implementing mitigation strategies for risks, opportunities, and issues.
* Administer NEC contracts using CEMAR and ensure document and deliverable management.
Requirements
* Experience in project or design management, ideally within infrastructure delivery.
* Familiarity with managing and administering NEC4 contracts (preferred).
* Knowledge of nuclear safety or experience working on projects in regulated environments is advantageous.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree, ideally in a STEM field.
* APM Project Management qualification (or equivalent).
* NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation.
