We are looking to recruit a Specialist Podiatrist to join our East Cheshire NHS Trust Community Podiatry Service to cover maternity leave on a fixed term basis. The East Cheshire Podiatry Service provides routine podiatry for high risk patients, wound care, nail surgery, biomechanical assessment and orthotic provision, and a domiciliary service. The service is offered in variety of settings across a large geographical area, including hospital inpatients, community clinics, health centres and GP surgeries providing a range of advanced clinical foot services to the local population. The successful candidate will need to be a team player with excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills. They will also require a positive attitude to personal and professional development. Travel is an integral part of this post and you must state on your application form how you intend to fulfil this essential requirement. You must hold a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry or a Diploma in Podiatric Medicine, together with a Certificate in Local Anaesthesia. Evidence of Continued Professional Development is also essential. NHS experience and working in the community is essential. Hours per week: 22.5 Main duties of the job To act as a Clinical Specialist in the Podiatry Service, to undertake triage, assessment and treatment of referred patients. To undertake work in a minimum of one specialist area to include woundcare, nail surgery or biomechanics. To support the development of Podiatrists, Podiatry Assistants and Podiatry students in role as a Clinical Educator. To support the Team Managers and Advanced Clinical Specialists in the day to day running of the clinics and to assist in service improvement initiatives in area of work.
