The Community Child Health service in Perth, Western Australia is seeking a talented and motivated Consultant Paediatrician to join their Child Development Service team. Perth is a major metropolitan city with a population of 1m people. Package of up to $497k + oncall allowances etc.
Full permanent residency support. As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will provide developmental and medical assessments for children referred to the Child Development Service.
This includes working closely with multidisciplinary teams consisting of clinical specialists such as nurses, psychologists, social workers, and therapists. You'll contribute to delivering high-quality developmental care for children and collaborate with external organisations as well as government departments and CAMHS. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Providing clinical leadership and advice to colleagues and other professionals.
2. Maintaining accurate records.
3. Contributing to departmental research, service audits, and education programs.
4. Participating in peer and case review meetings, ensuring CPD and high standards of clinical practice.
Selection criteria:
1. FRACP or equivalent.
2. Extensive experience in community paediatrics.
3. Extensive clinical experience in child development, particularly in managing conditions like Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and developmental delays.
4. Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
5. Willingness to supervise and educate junior medical staff.
6. Experience in clinical governance.
7. Effective team collaboration and strong leadership skills.
8. A compassionate and culturally sensitive approach to communication.
9. Ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
10. Previous involvement in research or policy development.
11. Experience using electronic medical record systems.
