We are currently searching for a Senior Fuel Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will spearhead the design, development and maintenance of our fuel systems for our advanced hybrid powerplant. This role will be critical for our vehicle development program in what is a highly innovative and intricate project. You will have the rare opportunity to engage in the full life cycle of vehicle development—from conceptualisation and prototyping right through to certification—you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of aerospace technology. Responsibilities:
* Design and Development: Design fuel systems that meet safety, performance, and efficiency requirements. This includes fuel tanks, pumps, valves, and fuel delivery mechanisms.
* Safety and Compliance: Ensure that the fuel systems meet industry regulations and safety standards. This involves conducting safety analyses, hazard assessments, and compliance checks with aviation or aerospace authorities.
* Testing and Validation: Oversee testing processes to ensure the systems work as expected under various conditions, such as extreme temperatures and pressures. Conduct simulations and physical tests to validate designs.
* Integration: Work closely with other engineering teams to integrate fuel systems into the overall structure of the aircraft. This requires collaboration with structural engineers, propulsion engineers, and avionics engineers.
* Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Responsible for diagnosing and resolving problems as they arise. Analyse failures and implement corrective measures.
* Continuous Improvement: Look for ways to improve fuel efficiency, reduce weight, and enhance system reliability through research and new technologies.
* Documentation and Reporting: Document designs, test results, and compliance efforts. Create reports for stakeholders, regulators, and engineering management.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering
* More than 5 years of experience in aircraft fuel system design
* Proficiency in CAD tools, such as Siemens NX, and modelling tools such as Simulink
