An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly Ultrasound team at Barnsley Hospital.
This friendly team provides ultrasound services across two sites, one at the main hospital site and also the brand-new community diagnostic centre in Barnsley town centre. This high-profile centre is the first of its kind in this area, within a shopping centre and provides ultrasound and other radiology services within the heart of the community. With easy parking and being surrounded by retail units, this centre is the ideal place to work. Barnsley town centre has undergone a multi-million-pound regeneration scheme and is a vibrant, bustling town offering good quality retail outlets and leisure facilities. The nearby Peak district offers beautiful scenery, walking, and outdoor activities. There is easy access to the M1 at both sites and the train and bus station is a five-minute walk from the community diagnostic centre. A slightly longer walk or very short bus journey will bring you to the main hospital site.
As one of our team, you will be actively encouraged to widen your scope of practice as we provide a paediatric, musculoskeletal, head and neck service and an expanding vascular service as well as more routine work in both general and obstetric ultrasound. The sonographers here have a wide range of experience and are always happy to share their knowledge. Particular areas of interest will also be actively encouraged and we are hoping to expand our sonographer led neck FNA service.
