Jacob are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join an existing team of engineers (civil/geotechnical/mechanical) which are embedded into the client organisation. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders to support the ongoing construction of HPC and MEH installation. It is a great opportunity to work in a highly driven environment on a project of national importance and fast track fulfilling attributes for chartership. Key responsibilities will be:
1. Weekly site visits to buildings across unit 1 and unit 2 to liaise with construction teams (civils/MEH) to observe any issues/trends that can be used to leverage optimisation's
2. Development of MEH standard field solutions / repair action catalogues for repeated installation issues
3. Assist with design change management and coordinating the input of various stakeholders leading change management board (CMB) papers
4. Chair of corrosion forum for corrosion related issues
5. Responsible for quarterly surveillance reporting of all FCR/NCR/RFI on-site
6. Potential to be involved in transverse issues across site and gain nuclear safety categoriser qualification
7. Technical Secretary for various technical decision meetings for critical issues across site
8. Gain mentorship from industry leaders across a range of disciplines.
Qualifications
9. Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline Mechanical
10. Pro-active and confident to engage with stakeholders independently
11. Assessment of technical risk and appreciation of contractual/commercial risk
12. Able to hold discussions with multi-disciplinary teams
13. Building a technical argument to support decision making
14. Working to project specifications and industry standards
15. Able to prioritise, plan and deliver to deadlines, self-motivated and a good communicator
