The Mary Anning Unit
We are seeking a ward clerk to cover a 7-day service on The Mary Anning Unit. You need to be flexible and reliable to provide an efficient and effective reception service to patients, visitors, and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
A flexible approach to a working shift pattern is required, which does not include night shifts. Your shifts will cover 7 days a week on rotation to cover the weekend shifts. You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure, using initiative and common sense.
The Mary Anning Unit is a busy, yet friendly place to work. The department is a 38-bedded care unit for older persons, which has a high volume of admissions and discharges.
You will be responsible for taking phone calls, liaising with the nursing team, and booking transport for patients if required. You will also be required to maintain electronic systems, including PAS, Patient Tracker, and Electronic Discharge Summaries (EDS).
Experience of working in a busy environment is desirable but not essential. However, the ability to be a team player and the desire to support the team in providing excellent service for our patients, their families, and carers is essential!
At DCHFT, we pride ourselves on the care we provide for our patients and on the culture we are creating for our staff. We work hard to create a fair, inclusive environment for our staff.

This role will be covering a 5-day service.
