Based in Oldham, our client has been established for over 60 years, ISO 9001 accredited, and services a wide range of industries, including Agriculture, MOD, Compressors, and Industrial Gas Equipment, among others.
Batch sizes range from 1 to 200 units. Tolerances vary depending on customer and work type.
They are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Setter for a busy, fast-paced subcontract machine shop.
Their operations include 12 CNC lathes (Mori Seiki, Okuma, Nakamura), some with live tooling, all with Fanuc controls. Additionally, they operate 10 Haas machining centres.
About the Role:
* You need the ability to program from drawings and make edits on the machine.
* Program, set, and operate CNC Lathes with live tooling.
* Carry out dimensional and visual checks using appropriate measuring equipment.
* Experience with CAD/CAM and CNC programming would be an advantage.
* Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
* Work 39 hours per week.
Candidate Requirements:
* Have completed an apprenticeship and possess previous engineering experience, with the ability to read, edit, and write programs.
* Responsible for setting and running two machines.
* Fully proficient with Fanuc controls.
* Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
* Responsible for quality assurance.
* Enthusiastic about producing high-quality work.
* Experience working with tight tolerances and deadlines.
* Flexible attitude towards working hours, as overtime may be required.
* Ability to work independently.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
