We make health happen Working within the Digital team at Bupa, the Blua Continuous DevOps engineer will be an expert in their field in coordinating and providing stability in our complex ecosystem delivering for our Digital Blua strategy. They should have an enterprise experience of managing and coordinating environment issues. They should have mastery in the field of DevOps, SecDevOps and have line management skills to mentor, employ and manage a highly skilled team of DevOps engineers. The job holder will have in-depth knowledge of their technical domain allowing them to lead technical analysis, specification, estimation, development, coordination, implementation and support of environments and infrastructure for Blua Digital Strategy. The job holder will have sound experience and knowledge of capacity management related to infrastructure The person will be a key SME in BGUK digital providing strong technical leadership to the digital development teams, projects, and programmes. How you’ll help us make health happen: Demonstrable experience of complex IT environment management for application development. Accountability for delivery non-production technical environments in a complex IT Ecosystem supporting digital Own and plan releases, deployment pipelines, coordination of environments ensuring each deployment is supported and stable. Sign off environment maintenance activities, change activities and non-production releases. Writing up and maintaining the technical/infrastructure architecture. Responsible for the strategic planning of the IT landscape to meet future capacity requirements. Broad range of troubleshooting experience related to releases, infrastructure, application servers etc. Maintain environment inventory and environment related processes. Work in close coordination with project managers & test team to ensure environment refreshes and outages are well planned without detriment to the application delivery. Manage and approve environment deployment requests so that approved and aligned releases are moved across higher environments subject to Bupa’s Change Management process. Defining merging and testing strategy after each release so that BAU is not affected. Develop and plan patching, upgrade plans for the environments with support from your DevOps team. Can spot problems prior to formally raised issues as they arise throughout the lifespan of a project. Drive improvements through DevOps practices and technical documentation. Take ownership of maintaining and expanding environment standards Takes ownership for resolving domain specific related problems, which directly or indirectly impact on operational services or development activities. Become the point of contact for technical and domain specific support for other teams supporting digital application development’s release process. Establish and maintain credibility and working relationships with other teams within Bupa, being an ambassador for Digital IT within the business community, supporting a customer service culture. Strong technical lead that leads by example and mentor junior members of the team Management responsibilities for junior members of the team. Key technical SME to align Bupa’s digital transformation objectives with its current technology estate whilst suggesting, improving the estate. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Knowledge and experience of a broad range of technologies or expert in a single technology, including: Sound knowledge of infrastructure, servers, complex ecosystem. Background in integrated services Azure, AWS deployment experience GIT, Azure Devops, TeamCity, Octopus, and other deployment tool experience is necessary. Strong communication skills, good team leader, player. Essential experience in code branching, merging to support releases. Essential experience of troubleshooting, reporting, fault resolution is required Experience of working in Azure DevOps alongside mixed teams including contractors and outsourced vendors. Other experiences of API, Apigee, CRM, ForgeRock, Logic apps is highly desirable. Experience of working in agile delivery methods. Continually develop, suggest, and deliver environment improvements.
