As we expand our services, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Product Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The Role
As a Senior Product Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative products from concept stage right through to manufacture. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and marketing, to create products that meet functional requirements and delight clients. Your leadership and technical expertise will drive project success and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of new products, ensuring alignment with client needs and company objectives.
* Foster a culture of learning and excellence within the wider team.
* Create detailed 3D models, prototypes, and technical drawings using CAD software (OnShape).
* Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to validate product concepts.
* Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimised for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
* Review and improve existing product designs to enhance performance, aesthetics, and durability.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budgets.
* Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to drive innovation.
* Contribute to and devise internal procedures to support resource planning and project efficiency.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* 8+ years of experience in product development, with a proven track record of successful projects and leading teams.
* Proficiency in CAD tools such as OnShape, SolidWorks, or similar software.
* Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and prototyping techniques.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively under pressure.
* Experience with FEA/CFD analysis.
* Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
* A portfolio showcasing successful product launches that evidences your involvement
