Job Description
Our client is a market leader in renewable energy, from the development, design and construction of large scale solar and BESS installations, to their operation and maintenance and market optimisation of BESS assets across the UK and Northern Europe. To date, the company has constructed over 120 grid-scale solar farms and 30 energy storage facilities, while its O&M service division has 1.6GW of assets under management.
Due to their phenomenal growth, they are seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator, as part of their growing Supply Chain team. This role will work closely with the Contracts and Procurement Lead in strategy setting, drafting and execution of contracts for equipment (EPC – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the UK and Northern Europe.
Key responsibilities:
* To ensure that all project contract documentation is drafted and negotiated with Suppliers/Subcontractors using NEC contract frameworks to minimise Anesco’s risk and to keep within agreed budgets
* To ensure that draft Scope of Works supplied by stakeholders are commercially robust and in alignment with NEC4 contract format
* To drive negotiations with Suppliers and Subcontractors to achieve the best commercial outcomes for the company whilst ensuring that Anesco’s contracting principles are adhered to
* To collaborate with internal stakeholders including Project Managers, Engineering, Legal and Finance Business Partners as the company transitions to an EPC Management model.
* To provide project cost analysis and reporting.
* To process Payment Certificates, Early Warning and Defects Notices along with Compensation Events.
* To provide Contracts and Procurement advice to the Project and other functional stakeholders.
* To promote best Contracts and Procurement practices.
* To build Supplier and Subcontractor relationships through maintaining knowledge of the Supply Chain though training and attending external events. To share supply chain information with stakeholders to ensure that the company retains its leading market position.
Skills required:
* HND/ Degree in Engineering/ Science /Business or related Supply Chain Management qualification e.g., CIPS, RICS.
* Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable (i.e., CIPS, RICS or World CC).
* Knowledge of Contract Law.
* Contracts and Procurement experience of NEC contract frameworks - drafting, execution and post contract award administration including the use of NEC Contract Management software e.g. CEMAR.
* Understanding of risk allocation, early warnings, compensation events and other critical NEC elements.
* Experience working in a multi-project, multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment with strong technical and commercial skills.
* Experience of working as part of a Supply Chain team with the ability to adapt to project dynamics.
* Previous Energy, Construction, Solar PV and BESS experience is desirable.
* Good organisation skills including attention to detail.
* Excellent team player and ability to work to challenging timelines.
* Good influencing, communication (verbal and written) and emotional intelligence skills.
* Effective problem solver and skilled negotiator.
