The Retail Stockroom Assistant position is a service role that supports the day-to-day operations of the West Region Retail Store located in Los Angeles, CA. Working no more than 29 hours per week. The ideal candidate is energetic and is a safety and service-oriented. With us, you’ll share with customers your passion for and knowledge of clothing to find the perfect outfit, while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where customers will enjoy their shopping experience and return for the unique apparel. This role will perform stockroom assistant duties in a retail store setting. You are responsible for taking stock of incoming materials and supplies as per invoices and/or requested by retail sales personnel. You will ensure compliance of stockroom procedures in handling customers’ stocks while enjoying the benefits of working on a cooperative and close-knit team. RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Deal with deliveries on a daily basis, maintaining order and tidiness, avoiding damage and preventing stock loss
2. Receive, confirm, open boxes and organize merchandise every day in an optimal and systematic manner according to stockroom guidelines
3. Perform daily replenishment on a continual basis
4. Organize and allocate the merchandise received according to stockroom guidelines
5. Provide support to your colleagues in the store floor, helping with replenishment and making additional orders when necessary
6. Straighten, arrange, stock and dust off merchandise, maintain shelving areas as directed by management, and participate in the designing of displays in windows and on tables
7. Be able to deal with individual store requests quickly and efficiently
8. Contribute to the profitability of the retail operation by receiving, handling, and managing the inventory of merchandise and supplies in a timely and organized manner.
9. Participate in formal periodic inventory audits.
10. Decrease store shrinkage by researching inventory discrepancies and reporting suspicious activities to loss-prevention specialists.
11. Advise appropriate partners about product placement and new inventory levels.
12. Organize the stockroom or warehouse, and ensure accurate labeling, logical placement, neat arrangement, and cleanliness.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
13. Organization and multitasking skills: High levels of efficiency and engagement are required while performing repetitive tasks.
14. Communication skills: You should be able to clearly communicate specifications to co-workers, orally and in writing.
15. Manual skills: You might use a wide range of equipment and machines, including power jacks, pricing guns, cardboard bailers, trash compactors, cranes, hoists, and forklifts. Training, experience, or appropriate certification with this type of equipment would be helpful and may even be required.
16. Computer skills: A basic understanding of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Access, and Outlook would be helpful, along with experience with other inventory-specific software programs. Proficient use of a calculator will most likely be required.
17. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of merchandise
18. Flexibility to work a retail schedule which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
19. The ability and willingness to be hands-on to complete basic tasks on a day-to-day basis.
