A market leading Civil Infrastructure & Utilities giant at the forefront of growth and investment seeks several hires across newly created roles in their strategic procurement function. The UK's energy system is undergoing an exciting period of transformation, and you could be part of it!
The indirect procurement professional will be tasked contributing to impactful infrastructure projects that support the UK's net zero goals. You will be a responsible for delivering end to end procurement strategies and tenders for new and innovative energy infrastructure solutions which will revolutionize Great Britain's energy provisions and consumption. The sourcing events are high value, complex and high risk as such they require a procurement professional with strong commercial acumen, project management and procurement leadership skills.
They seek proven procurement professionals to support the development and execution of new major infrastructure projects. The position will utilize strong commercial acumen, supplier management and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver procurement strategies for complex technical requirements. The successful candidate will possess strong industry experience working on large strategic procurement projects relating to energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take the lead on strategic sourcing agendas and tenders. Develop effective sourcing strategies and manage the end-to-end procurement process.
2. Project Manage tenders by ensuring the sourcing team stays on track, using project management tools to plan, report and analyze.
3. Maximize value creation across procurement spend.
4. Develop Market Insights by conducting research and analysis of supply markets to develop insights for category management planning. Stay informed about market developments and emerging supplier trends.
5. Analyze Spend Data relating to performance and other metrics and offer recommendations for action. Report findings to the Procurement Manager for a comprehensive view of procurement activities.
6. Identify Risks with the Procurement Manager and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring there are no disruptions in procurement delivery.
Key Requirements:
7. Strong background in managing large-scale tender events. Proven ability to identify and execute opportunities across various spend categories to maximize value.
8. Experience in major infrastructure procurement, regulated procurement, or energy markets is a plus.
9. Excellent at managing stakeholder and contract relationships, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders within supplier organizations.
10. Experienced in managing supply chains in complex environments.
11. History of going beyond basic procurement savings by using lean techniques to reduce waste and find income opportunities within the value chain.
12. Excellent project management capabilities.
13. Strong negotiation and influencing acumen in order to secure contracts that provide optimal value.
