REED/LTA are looking to recruit a highly experienced SEND Teacher to join a primary school in Preston working with 5 SEND children in a specialised classroom. This role involves working with 3 Reception children and 2 Year 1 children who are non-verbal and developmentally at the level of 18 months. The position requires a commitment to providing a tailored sensory and physical curriculum to support the unique needs of these children. The role is a long-term starting after February half term until July 2025 which could potentially be extended into September. Day-to-day of the role: Deliver a sensory and physical curriculum designed to meet the developmental needs of non-verbal children who require significant support. Collaborate with two full-time, highly competent SEND TA3s to ensure a supportive and effective learning environment. Engage in continuous assessment of individual student needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Maintain clear communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and developmental goals. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay updated with the latest educational strategies for SEND students. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a SEND Teacher, particularly with non-verbal and developmentally young children. Strong understanding of the educational needs of children with EHCPs. Ability to create and implement effective sensory and physical learning experiences. Excellent attendance, stability, and commitment to long-term engagement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff and communicate with families.
