Purpose of the Role
A high-performing Transactional Real Estate team is seeking a Managing Associate with 4+ PQE to support new and exciting client mandates in Leeds. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with UK and International Partners on client relationship development and the growth of the team, providing clear career progression at a pivotal stage. The successful candidate will represent a variety of prestigious property clients, both nationally and regionally, across all aspects of real estate work, including investors, landlords, tenants, developers, local authorities, and utility companies.
The Team
The Real Estate Group is one of the largest, with nearly 200 team members. The Leeds Transactional Real Estate team consists of 6 partners and over 40 fee earners, recognised as a Tier 1 ranked team. Recent accolades include winning the Yorkshire Property Insider Awards and the Yorkshire Lawyer Awards for Real Estate Team of the Year in 2023. The team prides itself on its transactional expertise, delivering a commercial and business-oriented approach to various property matters.
What to Expect:
* Engage in a range of commercial property work, including landlord and tenant matters, property management, sales and purchases, and development and regeneration.
* Compete with leading real estate teams, pitching for market-leading deals and negotiating complex transactions.
* Act on behalf of prominent investors, developers, and occupiers, including Realty, Aviva, CBRE GI, British Land, and various local authorities.
* Develop and maintain client relationships, providing timely and quality advice while managing expectations.
* Collaborate with a cohesive team to execute large-scale, high-value client matters to the highest standard.
* Play a key role in shaping the team's development, supervising junior members, and taking on additional responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* 4+ years of relevant experience in commercial real estate, with a demonstrated track record of leading complex matters.
* Strong enthusiasm, resilience, and ambition to provide solutions to clients' legal challenges.
* Experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels, adopting a consultative approach to tasks.
* Effective diary and task management skills, ensuring high levels of client service.
* Confidence in drafting clear and legally effective documents that reflect client instructions.
* Ability to remain calm and optimistic in time-sensitive situations.
* A desire for continuous learning and skill development.
* Inquisitive nature, understanding clients' needs to deliver quality, imaginative, and impactful advice.
Preferred Experience
While not essential, candidates with experience in corporate transactions involving real estate, or advising on real estate aspects of energy and project work, are encouraged to apply.
