Job Overview
Would you like to increase your existing knowledge and practice of working with adults with a learning disability and mental health needs? We are looking for relief support workers to join our small, friendly existing team working at one of our 24-hour supported living services for seven adults who each live in a one-bedroom furnished flat in the beautiful, conservation area of Stanwix in Carlisle (the project is easily accessible on public transport).
Responsibilities
1. Provide positive support to individuals to enable them to participate in community activities.
2. Work with and develop a personal support plan that addresses individual specific needs.
3. Help service users develop domestic, financial, and emotional management skills to achieve greater independence and self-esteem.
4. Actively liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies, advocates, and family members.
Qualifications
We are looking for dedicated, flexible, and responsive individuals to provide personalized support in line with the principles of recovery. You should have:
1. Prior support-related experience (essential).
2. A keen insight into the challenges faced by our clients.
3. Awareness of the delivery of supported living care.
4. The ability to work flexible shifts on a relief basis.
5. A positive outlook and the ability to engage and motivate individuals to participate in a range of activities.
You must enjoy working as part of a team.
