What is the job?
We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Assistant Bar Manager to join our vibrant Cafe Bar team. About The Role
Your day to day
People:
· Support the General Manager in managing and leading the team
· Coach and develop staff with regular feedback and guidance
· Assist with probation reviews and performance appraisals
· Play an active role in recruitment and onboarding of new team members
· Promote a positive, respectful working environment
· Assist with implementing HR policies and procedures
· Help create efficient and effective staff rotas
Guest Experience:
· Ensure a consistently high standard of guest service from the team
· Maintain a warm, welcoming, and engaging atmosphere
· Ensure all equipment is working and areas are clean and inviting
· Drive service excellence through planning and team training
· Set and achieve guest satisfaction goals
· Be a product expert—know the menu inside out
· Support with handling accommodation guest queries when needed
Responsible Business:
· Stay informed of competitor activity and contribute fresh ideas with the GM
· Oversee accurate food and beverage stock control, ordering, and rotation
· Ensure strict adherence to HACCP and health & safety standards
· Support the growth of The Safehouse brand
· Inspire the team to develop innovative concepts to drive the business
· Take responsibility for opening/closing procedures and building security
Financial:
· Work closely with management to meet departmental financial targets
· Monitor sales, track wastage, and control operational expenses
· Ensure accurate cash handling and end-of-day procedures
· Drive promotional activity to increase sales and guest value
Accountability
This is a responsible position in food and beverage in The Safehouse Café Bar. Supervising a number of team members and subordinate supervisors. Hours of work are 40 hours per week and will include morning, evening, weekend and bank holidays shift patterns.

Desired Criteria
Required Criteria
* •Some college and/or advanced training in food and beverage management
* •2 years of related experience, in supervisor or assistant manager position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* •Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification in Hospitality preferred
* •Must speak local language
