Electrician Housing Services
Job Purpose:
Electricians will inspect, repair, upgrade where required, and test domestic installations. Level 3 Electricians with 18th edition and inspection and testing of domestic properties are required. Qualifications will need to be assessed as appropriate by NAPIT to enable self-signoff of notifiable work and periodic inspections.
Continuous work undertaking periodic inspections to void properties prior to relets and periodic inspections & testing of tenanted properties. 60% of work in Blyth Area, 20% near Alnwick/Morpeth, all other work within Northumberland.
Working hours: 8:30 - 4:30 Mon to Thursday, 8:30 - 4:00 Friday.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out installations, repairs, and maintenance to owned electrical installations and components including testing and certifying works done in line with industry standards.
2. Undergo training to maintain a high competency level in electrical contracting and management of electrical safety.
3. Conduct risk assessments to ensure high levels of good practice and health and safety are maintained.
4. Carry out post inspections in relation to quality of work and safety requirements.
5. Produce reports to the Team Leader as required.
6. Carry out fault finding, testing, and installation of various electrical fittings and fixtures.
7. Ensure compliance with the latest IEE regulations and NICEIC requirements.
8. Work to an appointment system and complete work within priority timescales.
9. Participate in the emergency out of hours service.
10. Ensure a high level of customer care is adopted during repair or construction work.
11. Maintain stock levels and ensure materials are secured and properly recorded.
12. Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any defects.
13. Undertake any training or development identified to meet service demands.
Work Arrangements:
Travel to work sites throughout the County on a routine basis.
Normal working week: Monday to Friday.
