Job Description
Job overview
If you are looking for a new challenge, where no two days are the same and you have an interest in children's community nursing, then this may be the post that you are looking for!
We are seeking an outstanding Community Children’s Nurse to join our well-established Integrated Community Team that delivers acute, continuing, and complex health care. This challenging and rewarding role offers the opportunity to meet the needs of children, young people, and their families whilst working alongside Special School Nurses, our respite team from Firvale, and Consultant Paediatricians.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking paediatric nurse with community or paediatric experience. You will be a highly motivated, independent practitioner with sound evidence-based skills. The post holder will manage a general caseload and provide specialist advice, education, and support to healthcare professionals and patients. You will also contribute to the ongoing service development of the community children’s nursing service.
Working for our organisation
As a Band 6 in a well-established community team, you will be offered clinical supervision, regular appraisal, and support in achieving your personal development plan, as well as peer support from colleagues in similar roles. Child health will ensure excellent development opportunities and a range of expertise for advice and support in your role. Secondment to national, regional study days, and networking events will be actively supported.
Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement, and excellence thrive.
We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer), and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
If you enjoy variety in your work, supporting the professional development of paediatric clinical and non-clinical staff, and working directly with children and their parents within a multidisciplinary team, then this is a post you should apply for.
