Job Purpose
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, empathetic and experienced social worker to join our priority services team at United Utilities, supporting customers who may have a variety of different needs and may have been placed in situations where they require extra support. The Lead Social Worker will report to the Priority Services Manager and will be responsible for the management of a further social worker role.
We are looking for a qualified social worker with significant experience of working in a fast-paced reactive environment and is comfortable with the unknown and with approaching each situation with curiosity and empathy. We would like a social worker who is approachable and keen to support our colleagues who will in turn will be supporting our customers.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Work with a range of customers who have various needs. There will be an expectation to conduct assessments and support plans and refer to local authorities where appropriate, ensuring we are recognising any safeguarding concerns.
* Working with other agencies and where appropriate, make relevant referrals and keep updated with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines.
* Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake lead responsibilities. Forming part of the priority services incident response team, providing face to face support to customers who are in emergency situations.
* Develop and implement a strategy for supporting customers.
* Work with key stakeholders across the industry to identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities.
