The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager (Rail) to support the Sizewell C Project. This role will be site-based. Following the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which, along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
Your Duties and Responsibilities
* Supporting planning and delivery associated with the full life cycle delivery of a rail contract or railway work packages.
* Ensuring full and consistent compliance with all appropriate Network Rail Standards.
* Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders, suppliers, Network Rail, and team members.
* Responding to tender queries, meeting with suppliers, and providing input to tender technical reviews when required.
* Managing and resolving issues within the contract or package in a timely manner.
* Ensuring the List of Deliverables relating to the scope of work is delivered.
* Demonstrating industry knowledge and experience of working in the rail infrastructure industry.
* Ideally, coming from the rail infrastructure sector.
Qualifications & Experience
* Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 or APM). Primavera P6.
* Experience working in a heavily regulated environment.
* Experience in the design and/or delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
* Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
* Knowledge or experience of applying APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.
* IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs – Word/Excel/Outlook.
The Setting for the Role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licensed site. These can include nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gases, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high-pressure circuits, steam, and high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided, and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
