The Converged Core network is at the heart of BT and supports everything we do. The network underpins major infrastructure, such as the emergency services network and national air traffic services. It supports 70% of the UK's mobile network and 40% of the UK’s broadband network.
The Environment Architect executes a range of workstreams to deliver and maintain network architecture and strategy across the Test & Model Environment within Gemini, ensuring close alignment to Live Network Topologies as defined by the Platform Teams. An industry-recognised specialist who has a wide view on emerging technologies and their alignment to Environment efficiencies.
What you’ll be doing
1. Accountable for the long-term Lab Strategy in conjunction with Platform requirements and Industry tooling opportunities.
2. Contributes to the design of network architecture, delivering creative solutions to drive innovation in support of Network Service strategies.
3. Contributes to the design of network topologies, architectures, and services that solve complex business requirements.
4. Executes efforts to optimise network performance by growing and modifying existing networks, leveraging new and emerging technologies in support of application services.
5. Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in network architecture.
6. Works with Principal Architect, Fixed Networks to ensure Environment & Lab evolution aligns with Live Network plans and opportunities.
7. Accountable for the Gemini Building/Room consolidation in support of the Adastral Park Building Strategy.
8. Acts as GemEvo Team liaison for model/lab teams moving into Gemini as part of the Adastral Park Strategy.
9. Has an industry view of tooling both physical & automation available and aligns with the Software Engineering Specialist for creation/deployment.
10. GemEVo Team vendor liaison ensuring relevant support contracts are in place and valid.
11. Controls and coordinates financial spend within the GemEvo Team ensuring relevant orders are raised and managed efficiently.

You’ve suggested cost savings to assist budgets. Developed quotes and business cases in support of Network development ensuring cost-effective methods are adopted.
