We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Oakwood, a category C male prison located in Featherstone, Staffordshire.

Hours
This is a full time role, working hours per week, usually Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm.
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £24,973 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
1. Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
2. Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
3. Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings & Work on prescription service for around 7 sites
4. Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
5. Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
6. Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Our new Pharmacy Assistant Will Have:
14. An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills / Pharmacy Dispensing
15. Pharmacy experience whether from the community, hospital, or secure setting
16. Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
17. A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
18. Excellent communication skills
19. Good IT skills and IT literacy
20. Ability to work within a busy environment
21. Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
