There is a wonderful opportunity opened up on Ward 5 at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital for a dynamic Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to join our happy, hardworking team.

The world population is ageing, and we are all familiar with the challenges of meeting the needs of the growing number of older people. Here at Florence Nightingale, we work tirelessly to ensure that the right care and support services are in place when people need them.
We specialise in more complex discharges on a Community Hospital Delayed Discharge Ward, working alongside therapists and social care teams.
We also offer ongoing support and training.
Main duties of the job
* Adheres to the professional code of conduct NMC codes of practice.
* Assist and maintain high standards of patient care.
* Communicate with patients and relatives and promote cooperation and holistic care.
* Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to give optimum care.
* Assess patients' needs in respect of their dignity, privacy, religious, and cultural needs.
* Manage and supervise junior staff and students.
* Investigate and report any complaints received from patients, relatives, and visitors.
* Contribute to and attend ward meetings and support managers.
* Participate and complete audits on the ward.
* Maintain high levels of infection control and risk assess patients.
* Ensure own practice is up to date and support junior staff to complete ongoing training.
* Manage staff sickness and off-duty supporting the manager.
* You will be the clinical lead on the ward maintaining patient and staff safety.
