Job: Electrically Bias Engineering Technician (Multiskilled)
Location: Corby
Hours: 37.5 hours average over shift rotation
Shift Pattern: 6am to 2pm, 8am to 4pm, 2pm to 10pm (Mon to Friday) 10pm to 6am (Sun to Thursday nights)
On Call: 1 weekend in 4
10pm Friday to 10pm Sunday
My client is one of the nation's biggest baking companies and is seeking a Multi Skilled (Electrically biased) engineer to join them on a permanent basis in their Corby site. So About The Role:
The role will require you to deliver and demonstrate on a regular basis the following competencies:
Safety, Systems and Control
* Demonstrate safe working practices at all times.
* Produce and review RAMs.
* RCA and detailed fault finding.
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive maintenance and all associated system activity.
* Use of all site safety systems including L.O.T.O system, testing for dead and safe reinstallation to the plant.
* Follow the correct permit systems, produce Risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work, C.O.S.H.H. assessments to safely complete your allocated work stream.
Technical Competency
* Work on PLCs, HMIs, DCS and communications hardware and software.
* Instrument calibrations, control valve maintenance.
* Refurbishment of all types of plant and equipment including laboratory, factory, and Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure the effectiveness of the plant.
* Carry out Duty holder roles.
* Competent to work with all site's hazardous systems including steam, air, water, and a variety of dangerous chemicals including HCL, Nitric acid, caustic and ammonia plus others and their bulk storage.
* Mentor others to promote a good working knowledge of the plant throughout all aspects of work.
* Good communication with all grades keeping them aware of work undertaken and handovers when completed.
* Forming part of wider project teams or individual multiskilled activities.
What WE Expect You Will Deliver:
* Make food safety a priority within an engineering environment.
* Actively participate in raising Safety Observation reports (SORs) and Food Observation reports (FORs) always promoting safe working and food safety.
* Ensure along with the rest of the engineering team that all engineering KPIs are delivered in full and on time.
* Participate in CI/RCA activities in a WCM environment.
Qualification
* Apprentice Trained Electrical/Mechanical Multiskilled Engineer City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline.
* 17th Edition/18th Edition.
